Michael Nottleman Eclipses the 300 K Mark

Left Handed Pitcher/1B/OF Senior Michael Nottleman eclipsed the 300 strikeouts mark during his 15 strikeout outing against Brookstone. Those 15 put him at 81 for the year in 36 innings and 304 for his High School Varsity career.

He Recorded 60 in his freshman year (along with an estimated 25 in freshman and JV games not counted), 87 in Sophomore season, 76 in his Junior campaign, and sits at 81 in his Senior year with 8 games remaining plus playoffs.

While the paper scorekeeping of yester-year makes the record books difficult to trace accurately, we are sure he is not the first to eclipse the mark at Columbus High. In fact, in compiling the last 10 years of electronic records available, we found a notable of Cason Greathouse who had 96K’s in a single year, and that was the only year available. All that being said, here are career strikeouts leaders of the last 10 years:

Michael Nottleman 304
Mason Schoonover 152
Trent Grantham 150
William Nobles 143
Jonathan Brand 140
Jack Peak 113
Austin Hicks 113
Jack Brown 106
Cason Greathouse 96
Hogan Mayhew 76
RJ Griffin 67
Jonathan Miller 61
Davis Livingston 60
Thomas Williams 55
Timbo Trawick 54
Clayton Duncan 51
